At Aspire, we understand the power of sport to inspire individuals and communities.
This summer, we’re continuing to support women in cricket with our sponsorship programme.
We introduced you to Emily James and Mollie Adams in our summer 2023 cricket update, and they both enjoyed a successful season.
These aspiring cricketers have been busy forging ahead with their sporting careers during the 2024 cricket season, so we’ve plenty of news to share with you.
We’re incredibly proud to support Emily and Mollie and we hope you enjoy reading about their recent efforts and successes.
Emily James is having a busy season playing in 3 teams
The 2024 cricket season got off to a slow start as the typically unpredictable British weather led to many washed-out games during the spring.
However, with summer in full flow, Emily is now being kept extremely busy!
The aspiring young cricketer is off to a fantastic start this season having played her first Vipers match against South East Stars on 1 June. Emily was also selected for the Vipers game against the Army on 25 June and hit the winning runs.
The Sussex Women’s Premier League is well underway and on 2 June, Emily played two T20s in a day for Horsham at Burgess Hill.
Never one to sit still for long, Emily spends most of her Sundays playing at the Horsham women’s matches.
What’s more, she continues to play for Worthing 4s, boys and occasional girls matches – when she can fit them in!
Mollie Adams is the top scorer for Seaford Girls 1st XI this season
A talented young wicketkeeper and batter, Mollie has gone from strength to strength since her 2022 county debut for the Sussex CCC women’s team.
Mollie has been incredibly busy these past few months playing for:
Sussex Women 1st XI
Sussex Women U18
Southern Vipers Academy
Southern Vipers EPP
Seaford Boys U17
Seaford Girls 1st XI
Her 2024 batting highlights so far have been to hit the first school half-century of any team. She scored 26 not out for Sussex at the County Ground in Hove recently and is the top scorer for Seaford Girls 1st XI this season.
Mollie was recently away at a school festival and on the first day, she made 60 not out against Framlingham.
On 4th July she made her debut for the Southern Vipers Academy and made 70 not out
The Aspire Partnership is proud to sponsor both Emily and Mollie and help them as they progress on their sporting journeys.
We wish them the best of luck for the rest of the summer season.
