Debbie:

Hi, I’m Debbie, and I’m married to Eddie. We discovered The Aspire Partnership and Steve Pine about 10-plus years ago.

Eddie:

We were at a stage in life where we were probably playing too much and not saving enough. We paid off our mortgage, and we really needed to get to a point where we were planning for the future.

Debbie:

When we first started talking to Steve, we’d done some investments over the years; you know, you get a bit of advice from here, there, and everywhere. So, I think for me, a lot of it was about rationalising and maximising the position for the future. Silly things like just having a list of investments all over the place – little bits of money here, there, and everywhere – and Steve just giving us more of a plan, which I think is probably the best way to put it.

Eddie:

I was first introduced to Steve by my business partner, who, I think, had been with The Aspire Partnership for two or three years prior to my introduction. So, it was a recommendation from a business colleague.

Debbie:

Working with Steve gave us confidence in what we were doing financially. It wasn’t an overnight process, and Steve didn’t push that either. The relationship sort of morphed, and as he came to understand us better, our confidence grew, and what we wanted to achieve was as important to him as the financial advice he was giving, and I think that was really important.

Eddie:

He’s actively managed our savings and our funds. I think all sorts of legal advice, from not just the money that we’ve invested with him, but other things we’re doing privately. He’s the type of person you can approach about anything financial.

Debbie:

I think working with Steve has given us confidence in our financial future and also given us the ability to make some pretty key decisions about when we can do things and whether they’re necessarily right. It just gave us confidence in the decisions we were making about life.

Eddie:

Debbie:

I would definitely recommend Steve and The Aspire Partnership. My analogy is that you tend not to service your own car; you get someone in to do it properly for you – unless you’re a mechanic, obviously – and I think that’s really important in a financial situation as well. Yes, we can all have a little play around and dabble on our own, but getting some really clear financial advice has been invaluable.
