Steve is a founding partner of Aspire. He is a Certified and Chartered Financial Planner whose passion is preserving his clients’ wealth now and for the next generation. Steve has a great eye for detail and more than 30 years of technical experience in advanced pension work.
His emphasis on long-term, objectives-based financial planning in preference to short-term trends, means his clients have clarity on how their hard-earned cash can work best for them and their loved ones.
Steve has been awarded individual Chartered status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). This is considered the “gold standard” financial planning accreditation.
Chartered status is a symbol of Steve’s technical competence and signifies a public commitment to upholding professional standards and adhering to a professional Code of Ethics.
The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) accreditation is recognised globally as the gold standard for financial planning professionals.
It is awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and is only granted where the holder can demonstrate they meet rigorous international competency, ethical and professional practice standards.
Steve has completed the Personal Finance Society (PFS) Fellowship programme, making him an official Fellow of the PFS. This means he has demonstrated an exceptional level of financial planning achievement, evidence of his commitment to professional development and a commitment to the CII’s code of ethics.
Steve is a Bristol Bears season ticket holder, supporter, and frequent visitor to the Emirates Stadium – the home of Arsenal. He has a passion for art, going to live gigs, and trying to keep up with running with his dog in the morning.
Chartered Fellow (Financial Planning) is a CISI membership grade which is recognised globally as the gold standard for financial planning professionals.
This qualification enables professional advisers to develop specialist planning capabilities, covering topics like: personal tax and trust, business financial, pension and investment planning.
In order to have completed this qualification, individuals were required to obtain three units. These could have been selected from any combination of the available units at that time but must have included the compulsory G10 unit - Taxation and Trusts.

The level 3 Certificate in Equity Release meets the FCA’s requirement for mortgage advisers and those advising on equity release schemes. In addition to developing advisory skills, the Certificate offers an understanding of equity release regulation, products, market practice, and customer needs.
A recognition offered by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom. Individuals who hold this qualification have satisfied coursework and testing requirements set by the organisation.
This qualification is a collaboration between STEP and CLT International (CLTI). This Certificate bridges the divide between solicitors and financial advisers, enabling those in financial services to work more effectively with other professionals
