Miles Watson

My name is Miles Watson. I’ve been a customer of The Aspire Partnership for five years, and my adviser is Ian Larthe de Langladure.

I guess I’d reached an age where I needed to start planning things properly and thinking about things seriously. Aspire was recommended to me, particularly Ian, through some mutual contacts. So, we picked up conversations from there to have a chat and have a look at what I needed to do.

I got to a point in my life where my parents were, unfortunately, passing on, and it brought to light that you do need to plan for these things and make sure that you’ve got everything aligned effectively. That was something I was conscious I hadn’t done, so I really needed some help from someone to look at the whole thing.

After having initial conversations with Ian about what can be some quite complex issues and subjects that are quite alien to a lot of us unless you’re in that sector, they made everything very clear in terms of what we needed to do and what that looked like in terms of a plan.

Unfortunately, my father passed away last year, so we had quite a complicated estate to manage and make sure that we had structured it properly in terms of how that filtered through to the rest of the family. Aspire’s advice through that process has been invaluable.

They have a whole end-to-end view of all of my financial matters, and it’s that partnership approach where they will really get into the detail so that they can provide the best advice across every aspect of my financial requirements.

I feel a lot more comfortable with things now that we’ve got a clear plan in place. So, we know what we’re doing at the moment, and we know what we need to do in the future. I think that’s one of the things that makes you feel comfortable with your personal situation because you know where you are and what you need to do in the future to make sure that you have everything planned and structured correctly.

The key thing that we got out of working with Aspire is that it’s not just about talking and thinking about the future; it’s about structuring it now, getting on with it, and making sure that you get these things in place.
