Aspire deliver a financial planning workshop to pupils.

November 23rd, 2018

The lesson, led by Aspire partner, Ian Larthe de Langladure, focused on decision-making, employment and every-day life skills, highlighting the importance of the pupils planning for their long-term future, starting with the type of the job they hope to get.

“This is our first year as Bright Sparks sponsors, and it’s been really good and really engaging for the participants,” said Ian.

“We’ve been at Merchants’ Academy delivering a lesson around planning and we’re trying to get the guys to understand the need for them to plan in the longer term and make some positive decisions, rather than just dealing with the consequences of negative decisions”.

“The session was good – really interactive, and they asked some good questions. Hopefully, it’s got them thinking about where they are going with their lives.”

Bright Sparks is a 38-week placement, using a variety of rugby union skills, games, practices and team building games to engage disaffected young people.
